Synopsis

Nobita rescues a stray dog from a river and smuggles it home in a wall-mounted kennel, naming it Ichi after the sound dogs make in Japanese. He secretly cares for it, and soon adopts more strays—including a cat named Zubu that he found in the rain. With his friends' help, he decides the best solution is to send all these animals back 300 million years to a time when nothing else lived there. After giving them an evolution ray so they can use a food machine, the group says goodbye with a promise to visit. But when they try to check on them the next day, a time-space glitch throws them way off course—landing 1,000 years closer to the present than intended. What they find shocks them: the dogs and cats have already evolved into a fully functioning civilization that rivals anything in the future. Now stuck with a broken time machine, they need help with repairs. But that's the least of their problems. A massive asteroid cluster is heading straight for Earth, and they've got to figure out how to stop it. Nobita still wants to reunite with Ichi and keep his promise. There's also the mystery of Hachi, a dog who looks almost identical to Ichi. What's that about? The adventure across 300 million years begins.
