Humans discovered a hypergate on the Moon that let them teleport to Mars. Some colonists who settled there found advanced alien tech they called "Aldnoah," which led to the creation of the Vers Empire and a declaration of war against Earth. Things got messy during a lunar battle known as Heaven's Fall—the hypergate exploded, the Moon was destroyed, and both sides were forced into an uneasy ceasefire. Fast forward fifteen years. High schooler Inaho Kaizuka witnesses an assassination attempt on Vers Princess Asseylum Vers Allusia, who'd traveled to Earth to negotiate peace between Mars and her former home. The ceasefire falls apart immediately, and Mars declares war again. Now Inaho and his friends have to fight back against overwhelming odds to end the conflict once and for all.
