Asseylum is the Princess of the Vers Empire and genuinely close with Slaine. She was supposed to be on a goodwill visit to Earth, but her motorcade got attacked—everyone assumed she died. That "death" became the perfect excuse for the Martians to invade. In reality, she'd been sick that day and a body double took her place. Now she's stuck traveling with Inaho's group under an assumed name, hoping to contact her grandfather and convince him to stop the war before it's too late.
She's fundamentally an idealist and pacifist who actually believes in peaceful solutions and sees Earth's people as equals—which sets her apart from most Vers leadership. She feels genuinely responsible for what happened and wants to help end the fighting, even if she didn't pull the trigger.
Personality-wise, Asseylum is kind and compassionate, though she can be naïve about how the world works. She initially believes that simply revealing she's alive would be enough to stop everything, not realizing that certain people in VERS were using her as a convenient reason to wage war all along. She learns better, eventually, but it's a hard lesson.
What's interesting is her boldness underneath the kindness—she's surprisingly open and friendly, not guarded at all. More than anything, she prioritizes other people's safety before her own, and she takes being a princess seriously, even when it complicates everything.
