Synopsis

Years ago, Akko Kagari watched her idol, the famous witch Shiny Chariot, perform magic—and was forever changed by a single phrase: "A believing heart is your magic!" From that moment on, Akko knew exactly what she wanted to be. Despite having zero magical talent herself, she enrolled at Luna Nova Magical Academy, determined to become a witch who could make people smile, just like Chariot. The journey to Luna Nova was rough, but it led to some good things. Akko made friends with Lotte, a shy girl, and Sucy, who had a sharp sense of humor. Even better, she found Chariot's actual wand—the Shiny Rod—lying around, and immediately claimed it as her own. School itself turned out to be way harder than she expected. Akko's got guts and heart, but magic doesn't come naturally to her, and she knows it. Still, she refuses to accept being the weakest in her class, especially not when Diana Cavendish—beautiful, talented, and Akko's self-appointed rival—is right there showing her up at every turn. As magic itself begins to fade from the world, Akko and her friends stumble through their studies and adventures, slowly discovering what it really means to be a witch.
