Synopsis

After taking a year off, Shinpachi comes back to Edo only to find that Gintoki and Kagura have completely transformed into different people. Panicking, he realizes the whole city's gone weird—everyone looks and acts totally different. His sister Otae's married to Kondou from the Shinsengumi and is pregnant, which is. a lot to process. Confused but going with it, Shinpachi joins the Shinsengumi at Otae and Kondou's urging. He keeps discovering more bizarre changes everywhere he looks. Then he finds out Hijikata, the vice chief, is still normal, so the two of them team up to figure out what happened to Edo and fix it. Gintama' continues the show's tradition of over-the-top humor, ridiculous parodies, and shameless pop culture jabs as the Yorozuya crew gets tangled up in whatever chaos passes for normal life in this weird, alien-infested version of Edo.
