Synopsis

Hunters take on dangerous jobs—everything from exploring unmapped regions to hunting down rare creatures and treasures. But first, you have to survive the Hunter Examination, a brutal selection process that leaves most applicants seriously injured or dead. People take the exam for all kinds of reasons. Gon Freecss, a 12-year-old kid, just wants to find his father Ging, who's a Hunter himself. Gon figures that if he becomes a Hunter too, he'll eventually cross paths with him. So he decides to give it a shot. During the exam, Gon meets three people who become his closest friends: Leorio, a med student with big dreams; Kurapika, who's got a serious vendetta; and Killua, a former assassin trying to escape his family. They all have different reasons for being there, but they end up sticking together anyway. And before long, they're all in way over their heads.
