Gon Freecss is a rookie Hunter and the main protagonist throughout most of the series. He's the son of Ging Freecss, and his whole drive to become a Hunter stems from wanting to track down his father and understand what could possibly be so compelling about the profession that it'd make someone abandon their own kid for it.
He's the athletic, easygoing type—a natural at adventure and genuinely good with animals thanks to growing up in the woods. Math, though? Not his thing. The real problems are his temper and how quickly he acts without thinking things through, which tends to bite him hard. What makes him dangerous is that he's ridiculously talented for his age, but the moment someone questions his abilities, he needs to prove them wrong. That competitive streak can push him into stupid decisions.
