Synopsis

During the Fifth Holy Grail War, Caster makes her move by capturing Saber, Shirou's Servant. Recognizing the threat she's become, Rin and Archer decide she needs to be stopped immediately. But as the war's power dynamics shift, the two of them start to drift apart. Shirou, meanwhile, has lost his Servant and is badly wounded. When Rin tells him to sit this out, he refuses—he pushes forward anyway and throws himself into a direct confrontation with Caster. He's determined to prove he has what it takes, testing whether he can actually live up to his ideal of protecting people. As the fighting intensifies, the true goals and beliefs of each Master and Servant come to light. Everyone's willing to sacrifice everything they have for a shot at winning the Grail.
