Eureka Seven AO
The story takes place on Iwado, a remote island off Okinawa where there's growing momentum for independence. Ao Fukai is a 12-year-old kid whose father disappeared years ago—he lives with an elderly doctor named Toshio and is about to start middle school. His mother vanished a decade back under mysterious circumstances. Naru Arata, also 12, is Ao's childhood friend and the main heroine. She lives with her dad, older sister, and grandmother, and has latent "Yuta" powers that were triggered by something that happened when she was younger. Things kick off when a mysterious entity called "Secret" shows up and attacks the Scub Coral organism living on the island. Desperate to protect his home, Ao gets his hands on a military FP mecha called "Nirvash" and launches it from a Japanese military transport.
