Synopsis

Humanity's last survivors escaped Earth aboard Sidonia, a massive generation ship, after aliens called the Gauna wiped out the planet. After drifting through space for thousands of years, the ship suddenly came under attack again—the first assault in a century. It took everything they had, but with help from Tsumugi Shiraui, a human-Gauna hybrid, and the skilled Guardian pilot Nagate Tanikaze, they managed to win. A decade passes. Life on Sidonia is finally peaceful, and Nagate has become a celebrated hero. Tsumugi realizes she has feelings for him during these quieter days. But Captain Kobayashi knows better than to believe the peace will last. As long as the Gauna exist, humanity's days are numbered. The crew decides to make their final stand—one last battle to determine whether mankind survives or ends. As the endgame approaches, can they protect the people they care about?
