She's one of the Earth Forces' "Extended Humans"—soldiers artificially enhanced through drugs and surgery to become living weapons. The modifications left her unstable: she can seem calm and gentle one moment, then suddenly spiral into violent panic. Her memory was deliberately altered to strip away emotional responses during combat, but the procedure had the side effect of making her mentally fragile. She's prone to rapid mood swings, going from happy to frantic without warning.
What really sets her off is anything touching on death. She was conditioned to fear it obsessively, so even a casual suggestion that she might die sends her into a panicked rage. The only people who can really talk her down when she gets like that are Shinn Asuka and Neo Lorrnoke—they're basically the only ones who can reach her in those moments.
