During the One Year War, Slender was part of a reconnaissance team sent to Side 7 under Char Aznable's command, alongside Gene and Denim. While the other two pushed deeper into the colony, Slender held position near the exit as a lookout. When Gene went berserk and things went sideways, Slender managed to get a report back to Dren and Char before the whole operation fell apart—and unlike his teammates, he actually made it out alive once Amuro Ray showed up in the RX-78-2 Gundam.
