Gluttony is one of Father's homunculi, best known for his single-minded obsession with eating—pretty much anything and everything. He's a large, simple-minded character whose conversations tend to circle back to food, and he's got the biological tools to match: powerful jaws and acidic saliva that let him consume materials most creatures couldn't touch. People are his preferred meal, and he genuinely struggles to find interest in a fight unless he thinks there's a chance to eat his opponent afterward.
A recurring joke throughout the series has Gluttony constantly asking Lust (or whoever else is nearby) whether he can eat whoever they've just encountered. He seems to have a particular preference for female targets and shares a notably close bond with Lust, often appearing alongside her.
In the manga and 2009 anime, Gluttony ranks as the sixth homunculus created by Father. The 2003 anime adaptation doesn't give him much meaningful development.
