Daidara's whole thing is fighting. He's obsessed with getting stronger and will throw down with basically anyone who looks like they can match him—it's less about the mission and more about the thrill. He was one of Esdeath's bodyguards as part of the Three Beasts, and honestly, that job suited him perfectly since it meant constant combat.
His first real appearance in the story is taking out the former Prime Minister alongside Liver and Nyau. It's a pretty straightforward assassination, but it sets the tone for what he's about. Later, Esdeath sends the group after another political target on a cruise ship, which is where things get messy. That's when they run into Tatsumi and Bulat.
Daidara gets his shot against Tatsumi and actually dominates the fight—has him on the ropes until Bulat decides to step in. Bulat makes quick work of him though, cutting him down without much difficulty. It's a brutal reminder that being eager to fight doesn't always mean you'll win.
