Escha Malier is a cheerful, energetic girl from the small remote town of Corseit who recently joined the local branch of the Unentered Area Special Investigation Bureau as an official. She started the job alongside Logix "Logy" Fiscario, and the two work together on the development team.
Before this, Escha spent her time helping with alchemy work—knowledge that actually drew her to the bureau in the first place. She wanted to put her understanding of older alchemy to use helping others. She can be quirky and wears her emotions openly, though she's occasionally shy and doesn't always think things through before acting. Still, she's hardworking and genuinely curious about almost everything.
Escha comes from a long line of apple farmers. Her family manages the land around what might be the oldest tree in their orchard, and she has a real weakness for sweets, especially apple tart. Her mother Miria died when she was young, but her mother's close friend Clone stepped in and has been like a mother to her ever since.
Her most distinctive accessory is a moving tail made by her mother years ago—Escha still doesn't understand how it actually works. Exploring the Unexplored Ruin has been her dream since childhood, inspired by the old folklores her mother used to read to her. Most of those stories centered around the ruin, so it holds deep meaning for her beyond just curiosity.
