Kanemaru was Eijun's classmate when they both entered Seidou High School as first-years. He lived in the school dorms and roomed with Chris. Right from the start, he had a confident presence and naturally became the leader among the first-year students.
He initially didn't think much of Eijun, figuring the guy was all mouth and no substance. But over time, Kanemaru came around and actually recognized his talent. Eventually, he got to the point where he was proud to say that with Eijun making the first string, he represented all the other first-years too—basically claiming a share of that achievement.
