Riku is a naturally gifted speedster with grey hair who's best known for being the one who got Sena started with running in the first place. Back in elementary school, he spotted Sena being pushed around and used his own speed to step in and help—after that, he made it clear to Sena that being fast enough could mean never having to deal with bullies again. The irony is that while Sena did end up using his speed for years as a gopher (running errands), that thankless job is what actually built him into the incredible athlete he became.
Riku eventually moved away when his family relocated, but the two reconnect later in the series. Like Shin, he's sharp enough to see through Eyeshield 21's disguise pretty quickly and figure out it's Sena underneath.
