Birthday: October 8
Height: 158 cm (5'2")

Occupation: Student (grade 10-11), Ultra Director, Ultra Detective, Brigade Chief and Founder
Who She Is
Haruhi's the kind of person who walks into a room and immediately announces she's looking for aliens, espers, and time travelers—and that she has zero interest in "ordinary" people. She's funny and eccentric in a way that makes most of her classmates want to steer clear of her, which suits her fine. Normal high school life bores her to death.
She's genuinely talented though. Smart, athletic, naturally good at basically anything she tries—she once joined every club in school just to quit them all because nothing held her attention long enough. Her musical ability showed up big during the school festival when she jumped in as lead singer and guitarist for the band ENOZ.
The Complicated Side
Underneath that cold, indifferent exterior is someone spontaneous, upbeat, and honestly kind of hyperactive. She's determined and resourceful, but also ruthless when she needs to be. When things don't go her way, she gets hot-headed fast. She's not above blackmailing people—like when she forced the Computer Society President to hand over a new computer for her purposes, even if it meant dragging someone else into it.
Her biggest issue might be jealousy. When Kyon gets too friendly with other girls, she doesn't handle it well. There's actually a story where her jealousy nearly destroyed and recreated the entire universe. She's also extremely competitive and accepts any challenge without hesitation, which comes off as arrogant sometimes, though it mostly just reflects her constant, almost annoying optimism.
With Mikuru specifically, she's kind of ruthless. She treats her like a dress-up doll, constantly forcing her into random costumes—bunny girl outfit, whatever—just because she finds it entertaining and useful. She'll comment on Mikuru's attractiveness like it's a tool she owns. She's also pretty unselfconscious about her own body, changing clothes without much concern for who's around.
The SOS Brigade
Haruhi founded the SOS Brigade (Saving The World by Overloading it with Fun Haruhi Suzumiya Brigade) because no existing club matched what she wanted. Her recruitment method is basically "voluntarily arrest" people and force them to join. She named herself Chief and has made it clear to Kyon that she's never stepping down.
The Brigade is genuinely important to her. She'll do whatever it takes to keep it running and get it attention—maintaining their website, organizing city-wide hunts for strange phenomena, entering sports tournaments, whatever. She wrote, produced, and directed their amateur film The Adventures of Mikuru Asahina for the school festival.
Kyon was the first person who actually had a serious conversation with her, and it changed things. She started softening up, opening up to people around her. She clearly developed feelings for him too, though it's hinted that part of the reason she connected with him is because he resembled someone important to her—someone named John Smith, who's actually the same person as Kyon.
