Paula is one of the main characters in Heion Sedai no Idaten-tachi. She's best known for her laid-back personality and her unusual ability to communicate with birds, which she actually prefers to combat.
Appearance
Paula has long brown hair styled in twin tails and typically wears a simple shirt with a long skirt. She looks like a young girl, which fits with her generally softer demeanor compared to her peers.
Background
Paula came into existence about 16 years ago when Prontea, a disciple of Rin, summoned her into being. Despite being an Idaten—a being tasked with fighting demons—she's drawn more toward peaceful pursuits. Her talent lies in stealth and silent movement rather than raw combat strength.
It was actually the birds Paula talks to that first alerted her to humans gathering in the north. When she and her companions investigated, they discovered the humans were resurrecting a demon. Paula couldn't handle the threat on her own, but Hayato stepped in and defeated it. Afterward, Ysley convinced everyone to train under Rin, the legendary Idaten. Paula thought Ysley had to be exaggerating about how intense Rin's training was—until the first session proved her wrong.
Personality
Paula is genuinely kind to both Hayato and Ysley, and she respects Rin as a warrior, even if she finds her terrifyingly brutal. She's noticeably weaker than her companions, which she's fine with since she'd rather relax and chat with birds anyway.
