Selim Bradley is King Bradley's son. He's a bright, eager kid who's genuinely interested in his father's war stories and life as Führer—constantly asking him to share anecdotes and battlefield tales. He looks up to his dad and wants to follow in his footsteps by becoming a State Alchemist, partly out of a desire to be useful and partly just because he admires the work. He's also a fan of Edward Elric, which shows he pays attention to what's happening in the alchemical world around him.
In both the manga and the 2009 anime, Selim comes across as a typical well-meaning kid who idolizes his father.
