Brittney Karbowski
Born: June 26, 1986 in Sugar Land, Texas (just outside Houston)
Brittney Karbowski got her start in local theater around Houston, performing in productions like Little Shop of Horrors, Seussical, and The Rocky Horror Show—where she played Janet. A director from ADV Films caught her performance and brought her into voice acting.
Her early anime roles were mostly minor parts in shows like Gantz and Chrono Crusade, but she quickly moved into bigger things. She voiced Fuko in Gilgamesh and picked up roles in Maddlax, Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok, and Yumeria before landing her breakout role as Black Star in Soul Eater. That opened the door to leading roles at Funimation and Sentai Filmworks (ADV's parent company).
She's best known for voicing Mikoto Misaka in A Certain Magical Index, Rimuru Tempest in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, and Nanachi in Made in Abyss. Fans also recognize her voice as Sanae Dekomori in Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!, Papi in Monster Musume, Wendy in Fairy Tail, Camie Utsushimi in My Hero Academia, and Ravel Phenex in High School DxD, among many others.
Beyond anime, she's done commercial voice work and appeared in films including Puncture and the horror film Atrocity. She was set to play a lead in the sci-fi project Code of Evil.
Outside work, she enjoys gardening and cooking, and she collects piggy banks. She's been married to Matt Hernandez since 2013 and has two kids. She shares her home with her dog Sierra and cat Kiki.
