Synopsis

In the Usagiyama Shopping District, there's a quirky but tight-knit group of shop owners—including the Kitashirakavas, who run a mochi bakery called Tama-ya. Their daughter Tamako is a clumsy, lovable high schooler who one day finds a talking bird claiming to be royalty. His name's Dera Mochimazzi, and he's on a mission: find a bride for his country's prince. He follows Tamako home, gets way too into mochi, gains a ton of weight, and ends up stuck living with her family. He quickly becomes the neighborhood's favorite mascot. There's also Mochizou Ooji, Tamako's friend who's been harboring secret feelings for her the whole time. Their dads are competitive mochi rivals, which complicates things. And there's still the matter of Dera's original mission—finding the perfect bride for his prince. How's that gonna work out?
