Aza Choubei
Aza Choubei is a notorious criminal with a reputation for extreme brutality. He's one of a handful of death row inmates selected for the dangerous mission to Kotaku Island to retrieve the Elixir of Life for the shogun. What makes his case particularly unusual is that his assigned executioner—the Asaemon tasked with monitoring him—happens to be his younger brother, Touma. This creates obvious tension given their shared history and opposing positions on the island.
