Clow Reed created the Clow Cards and their guardians, Cerberus and Yue—basically the entire magical foundation of the series. He was half-English, half-Chinese, and pioneered a hybrid magic system that pulled from both Eastern and Western traditions. His whole goal was to leave his magic in capable hands, but finding people who could actually master it proved nearly impossible.
You never actually meet him in the present-day story since he's been dead for ages by the time things kick off. The series only shows him through flashbacks, and honestly, not much is revealed about who he actually was as a person or what his life was really like. He's more of a legendary figure than a fully fleshed-out character.
