Ririko never escaped Manoyama Town—the rural place she despises—mostly because she lacked the guts to actually leave. After high school ended, decent job prospects dried up, so she drifted into hikikomori life instead, spending her days online. She's not great at talking to people, which hasn't helped her situation. Shiori, her childhood friend, is basically her only real connection to anyone.
