Kurita is the biggest and strongest player on the Deimon team by a wide margin. He lives in a Buddhist temple with his father, who runs a sect there—and apparently his dad's philosophy about raising strong boys involved feeding them constantly. The result is Kurita's distinctive chestnut-shaped head and massive frame, though he's got nothing but kindness underneath all that size. He became Sena's second friend when they both joined Deimon High, and honestly, his heart is just as enormous as his body.
Before Deimon, Kurita was at Shinryuji, but he transferred along with Hiruma and Musashi after getting passed over for their athletic scholarship in favor of Kongo Agon. Unlike Hiruma's borderline psychotic enthusiasm, Kurita's passion for American football is genuine and straightforward—though it does translate to some wild stuff, like calling morning practice at 2 AM or accidentally destroying a truck by hugging it too hard. His go-to shout when giving it his all is "Funnuraba!"
He's mentoring a younger player named Komusubi, and his real dream is to play in the Christmas Bowl. While he's not the sharpest (nearly blew Sena's secret identity once), Kurita transforms when the game gets serious. His face tightens, his eyes get wild and inflamed, his eyebrows thicken—and he gains even more strength than usual. He can snap back to normal if something makes him happy, but he'll shift back into that mode once play resumes. He's also the team's unofficial peacemaker, though his method is just flattening everyone involved in a fight.
