Gender: male
Birthplace: Pallet Town
Red's rival and one of the strongest trainers around. Green starts out pretty arrogant, but his personality softens over time—mostly thanks to Red pushing him to grow as a person. He's always been independent and stubborn, preferring to work alone at first, but eventually teams up with Red to take down Team Rocket and becomes a solid ally. After that, he settles into being a determined friend to the other Dexholders, though he still has that cold edge to him sometimes.
As a trainer, Green's legitimately world-class. He made it to the finals of the 9th Pokémon League but lost to Red, finishing in second place. During the GSC arc, he stepped up as the Viridian Gym Leader after Red got sidelined by injuries. He even went head-to-head against his former master Chuck in the Gym Leaders' Exhibition Match and came out on top.
He's Professor Oak's grandson, and Oak actually considers him "the Trainer"—the real deal. Alongside Red, Green's recognized as one of the best trainers in the world.
Note: In the English localization, Green's name was changed to Blue, which causes some confusion with another Dexholder who goes by Green in English (but is called Blue in the original).
