Yayoi Aida is Hikoichi's older sister and works as a reporter for a weekly basketball magazine. Her job usually has her covering Shohoku matches rather than her brother's team at Ryonan, which she doesn't seem to mind—she's genuinely impressed by how Shohoku handles themselves against powerhouses like Kainan and Sannoh. During the National Championship, she finally gets the chance to observe Sannoh's training routines up close.
She's pretty much always accompanied by Nakamura, an enthusiastic trainee who handles driving duty whenever they need to hop between gyms. Fair warning: he's still getting the hang of it, having just gotten his license, so don't expect speed records. On a more personal note, Yayoi has a pretty obvious crush on Ryonan's ace, Sendoh.
