Taisuke Ootsubo is Shūtoku High's center and captain. His size and muscle mass make him nearly unstoppable in the paint—he dominates the boards and finishes at the rim with dunks. What really sets him apart is his rebounding prowess. Even when multiple defenders crowd the basket, he just uses his massive frame to shoulder them out of the way. His rebounding is strong enough to hold its own against Teppei Kiyoshi, which says a lot.
He's willing to let star player Midorima get away with the occasional selfish play, following the team coach's lenient approach. But unlike the coach, Ootsubo enforces it through intimidation—Midorima knows there'll be serious consequences if he pushes his luck too far.
