Spirit of Lake Toya
The Spirit of Lake Toya is the sword spirit possessing Gintoki's blade. He first shows up in Chapter 150 trying to teach the Yorozuya crew a devastating technique called the "Jumbolic Magnum"—basically a punch that launches you skyward with the side effect of making you leak fluids everywhere.His home life is pretty weird. He lives with his parents, whose aesthetics are. questionable. His mom rocks an afro and white beard combo, while his dad is perpetually unemployed but does have a signature move called the "Jack Nicolle," which shoots a beam from his bald spot. They also keep a pet that sheds curly hair constantly.
Toya's apparently a former classmate of Taikobou from Hoshin Engi, though that connection doesn't really matter much. He's got pretty mundane hobbies—loves fried cuttlefish judging by his trash bin, though the mysterious hardened tissue paper he claims are leftovers from his snack sessions seems questionable to Gintoki. He also keeps a collection of female figurine books stashed under his bed.
The character is basically a parody of Zangetsu from Bleach.
