Chew (チュウ, Chū) — called Choo in the English dub — is an Archerfish-man and one of Arlong's more composed officers, though that composure masks a genuinely brutal streak. He's known for spitting water from his mouth like bullets, a handy trick for a fishman. In the Japanese version, he peppers his speech with "chu," an onomatopoetic kissing sound, while the English dub has him ending sentences with "smek" (rendered as "chew" in the 4Kids version).
Chew doesn't mess around—he once shot a Marine Captain mid-sentence without hesitation. But when he went up against Usopp, he seriously underestimated his opponent. The fight went south fast. Usopp wore him down through pure persistence, running circles around him, setting him ablaze, and finishing things off by repeatedly smashing him over the head with his "Usopp-Hammer" until he was out cold.
