Ryotaro's daughter and the Protagonist's young cousin. Nanako's pretty innocent and spends a lot of time alone at home while her dad's tied up with work—she's self-sufficient enough to fend for herself, mostly glued to the TV. She looks up to the Protagonist like an older brother and genuinely wants to be around family whenever she can.
She's got a lot of questions about the afterlife and morality—where do good people go, where do bad people end up, that kind of thing. Over time, the Protagonist helps her work through the reality of her father's demanding job, and she comes to understand that he misses her mom just as much as she does.
