Excalibur
Excalibur is a legendary weapon of incredible power—the kind of sword that heroes and kings have wielded throughout history. Technically, anyone can use it. The catch? Nobody can actually stand using it, because Excalibur has an ego that makes Black Star look humble. His personality is the real obstacle. He's demanding in absurd ways: expect lists of a thousand arbitrary tasks, including mandatory five-hour reading sessions daily. Basically, the only reason anyone earns the title of "hero" while wielding Excalibur is that they've somehow tolerated his nonsense long enough.
Kid and Black Star were the first to learn this the hard way. They discovered a book about Excalibur and went searching for him, only to realize the book was written by Excalibur himself. They bailed immediately.
In his human form, he's the complete opposite of his elegant sword self—a cartoonish gentleman with a ridiculous mustache and no pants. Despite his annoying personality, his powers are genuinely impressive: he grants the wielder incredible strength, near light-speed movement, and teleportation. One Shibusen student actually managed to complete all his ridiculous demands and found the power boost easy to handle. That student ended up returning him anyway, just because he couldn't handle Excalibur's irritating sneeze.
Throughout the story, he's basically comic relief, except for one significant moment: he told Kid, the Thompsons, Buttataki, and Blair about Eibon's history, backed by Shinigami himself.
