Sanji is the chain-smoking chef of the Straw Hat crew, known for fighting almost exclusively with his legs to keep his hands intact for cooking. His kicking arsenal is diverse and devastatingly effective, but his real pride is his world-class culinary skill—something he learned from Chef "Red Leg" Zeff at the Baratie, who also trained him in combat.
Born in the North Blue but raised in the East Blue, Sanji's personality is pretty much split between two modes. Around men, he's gruff, impatient, and loves trash-talking. Around women, he completely loses it—fawning, swooning, and offering help whether it's wanted or not. He's earned the nickname "ero-cook" for this pervy behavior, but there's genuine chivalry behind it too; he's made an absolute vow never to harm or insult a woman, even if she's actively trying to kill him. This "strict upbringing" he mentions is clearly the source of all that, though it does make fighting female opponents basically impossible for him. On the flip side, he's not above enjoying the view when women dress skimpily, which kind of contradicts the whole gentleman thing.
His life goal is finding the All Blue—a legendary ocean containing every fish species in existence. For someone with Sanji's obsessive love of cooking, it'd be paradise. That devotion runs deep enough that he won't let anyone starve, enemy or ally.
As crew chef, Sanji's always watching out for everyone's health, which puts him at odds with Luffy constantly—the captain eats too much, disrespects the art of cooking, and is generally a disaster. Sanji and Zoro are perpetually bickering (he calls him Marimo), but they work together like a well-oiled machine in actual fights. He's protective of the female crew members to a fault; Nami especially knows how to exploit his servility. He initially wanted to cook Chopper but grew to respect him as a real friend. He's genuinely close with Usopp too, understanding him better than most. Overall, Sanji cares deeply for the crew—maybe even more openly than Zoro, even if he won't always admit it.
