Itsuwa is a blond-haired, blue-eyed nun from Italy who works for Necessarius, the secret magical branch of the Church of England. She's known for her skill as a decoder, though her reputation came from a dark misunderstanding—the Catholic Church believed she could decrypt the Liber AL vel Legis, a dangerous grimoire filled with powerful magic. In reality, she was trying to destroy it, not unlock its secrets.
When word got out about her supposed ability, the Church marked her for death. Desperate and hunted, she turned to the Amakusa Catholics for protection, but her trust issues got the better of her—she suspected they just wanted access to the grimoire's knowledge and bolted. Her paranoia wasn't entirely unfounded given the circumstances, but it left her isolated and vulnerable.
Everything changed when she met Tōma. Through him, she realized that both he and the Amakusas actually wanted to help her, no strings attached. It was a turning point that reminded her there were genuinely good people willing to stand by her. When it finally came to light that she'd never actually been able to decrypt the grimoire at all, the Catholic Church called off the death sentence. Necessarius and the Church of England granted her sanctuary and official protection.
