Hanamiya Makoto, aka "Bad Boy," is Kirisaki Daīchi High's resident villain and one of the Uncrowned Kings. He's infamous for his dirty play and underhanded tactics—most notably, he's the one who injured Teppei's knee the year before.
What makes Hanamiya genuinely dangerous isn't just his own skill. He's got real control over his teammates and can orchestrate fouling strategies with unsettling precision, sometimes breaking opposing players badly enough to sideline them for weeks. He's not shy about it either, though he'll sometimes act like he's just playing the game. When he essentially ordered Kiyoshi's destruction, he muttered "rest in peace" to himself—which tells you everything you need to know about how he approaches basketball.
His whole philosophy boils down to this: talent and ability don't matter if you're broken. Genius, prodigy, doesn't matter—once his team dismantles you, you're just garbage. It's a brutal way to think about the game, and he genuinely believes it. He also hates losing control of situations; when things don't go his way, it visibly bothers him.
