An Amanojaku yokai who normally chops the firewood. She/He is a type of demon who turns into a female at night. The female form of Awashima can dance like a heavenly nymph. His/Her name comes from the name of the second child of Izanagi and Izanami in the Kojiki, Awashima no Kami, who was neither male nor female.
