Hakase—literally "Professor"—is the second-smartest person in class 3-A, right behind Chao Lingshen. She's practically living at Mahora University's science labs, splitting her time between research and actual classes. Best known for being Chachamaru's creator, she's basically the android's mother figure, and she's the only one who knows Chachamaru is in love with Negi. Hakase clearly had insider knowledge about magic long before the magic teacher showed up—you can tell from how she built Chachamaru with magical components and how openly she talks with Evangeline about it all.
When it comes to helping Chachamaru, Hakase goes the extra mile. She designed a realistic skin covering for her to make pursuing Negi less awkward. During school festival season, you could find her running the Chao Bao Zi food cart alongside Satsuki. Notably, she was one of the few girls in the class who didn't tag along on the England trip—she had research to focus on, presumably.
