She runs a ramen restaurant and was initially deeply hostile toward Joi participants—her husband was killed in a terrorist attack connected to the movement. When Katsura showed up at her place wounded and needing to lay low from the Shinsengumi, she took him in. He later repaid that debt by helping her through a serious crisis, which fundamentally shifted her perspective. Even after learning his true identity as a Joi participant, they've managed to stay on good terms.
The restaurant became notable enough that Katsura's television interview was filmed there. She's also built a solid friendship with Gintoki, who apparently can't stay away from the place—he shows up regularly as a customer.
