Smoker is one of the few Marines who actually stands out—mainly because he refuses to buy into the whole "Absolute Justice" thing most of his colleagues preach. Instead, he follows his own moral code, which he's pretty vocal about. He first showed up in Loguetown, where he was on Luffy's tail, and he's been a fixture in the story ever since.
You can't miss him. White hair, perpetually smoking two cigars at once, and built like someone who actually fights. He wears this oversized white and blue Marine jacket with greenish fur trim that he leaves unbuttoned, plus more cigars strapped across it—the back's got the kanji for "justice" printed on it. Brown leather gloves, blue jeans, military boots, the whole look. He carries a Seastone-tipped jutte as his weapon, which makes sense given his Devil Fruit powers.
His Smoke-Smoke Fruit lets him turn into smoke and all that comes with it, which is exactly as useful as it sounds in a fight.
Underneath the stern, no-nonsense exterior, Smoker's got a softer side—he's genuinely close with fellow Captain Hina and former Admiral Kuzan. After the timeskip, he got promoted to Vice Admiral and stationed at the G-5 base out in the New World. He's visibly bulkier now and picked up a scar on his face along the way.
