From that point on, Cerberus accepted Hiruma's authority completely. Kurita noticed the bond pretty quickly: whatever Hiruma says goes, and it's clear (especially by the time we get deeper into the series) that Hiruma genuinely cares about the dog, even if he won't advertise it.
Cerberus isn't your average dog. He's weirdly humanoid—stands on his hind legs, uses his front paws like hands, and can apparently speak. The manga reveals he can bench press 120 kilograms, which is honestly ridiculous, but that's the kind of show this is.
