Sig Curtis is Izumi's husband—a massive, muscular butcher from Dublith who tends to keep his thoughts to himself. He doesn't question Izumi's decisions, even when she attempted to bring back their dead infant son. Like his wife, he's genuinely fond of the Elric brothers and shares her distrust of the military.
When Fuhrer King Bradley showed up offering Izumi a State Alchemist position, Sig basically brushed him off. He did, however, end up bonding with Major Alex Louis Armstrong over a muscle flexing competition—apparently they found common ground there. He's also picked up a friendship with Winry Rockbell along the way.
One weird thing fans often note: in the anime, he's occasionally shown sleeping with both eyes wide open.
