Chouza Akimichi is the father of Chouji and head of the Akimichi clan. He was part of the original Ino-Shika-Chou trio alongside Shikaku Nara and Inoichi Yamanaka—the "Chou" in that legendary team name.
During the Nine-Tails' attack on Konoha, Chouza helped defend the village with his teammates. Years later, when he learned that Chouji was being treated as an outcast because of his weight and the clan's unfair reputation as weak ninja, Chouza gave his son some reassuring words: he'd find true friends who would see the real Chouji, not those prejudices.
Chouza comes across as a genuinely warm and wise person who loves his son deeply. Like all Akimichi, he's got an enormous appetite and will demolish an entire page of a restaurant menu without blinking. As clan leader, he's naturally mastered all of the Akimichi's signature techniques, which rely on converting calories into chakra. He's proficient with the Multi-Size Technique, the Human Bullet Tank, and the Partial Multi-Size Technique—all of which let him enlarge different body parts in combat. He's also skilled with a staff that grows right along with him when he uses his size-changing abilities.
