Phoenix Wright is the protagonist of the first three "Ace Attorney" games and has been dreaming of becoming a defense lawyer since childhood. He joins Mia Fey's law practice as a rookie attorney, marking the start of his legal career.
Easygoing and laid-back by nature, Phoenix tends to get pulled along by his friends—but once he commits to something, especially defending a client he believes in, he's surprisingly stubborn about it. Early on, he leans heavily on Mia's guidance and mentorship to navigate cases, though he's already shown genuine dedication to his work. He's got a dry, sarcastic sense of humor that mostly stays locked up inside his head.
The creative team has different ideas about what Phoenix might've done if law hadn't worked out. Director Takumi has suggested he could've pursued Shakespearean acting in college, while character artist Suekana reckons he'd have made a decent manga artist instead.
Phoenix is an only child with a close childhood friendship to Larry Butz. His family background beyond that remains largely unexplored in the games. He works under Mia at her firm, where she serves as both his boss and mentor.
