Ylva is Thorfinn's older sister and basically holds down the fort while her brother's off on his revenge quest. After their father Thors dies, she steps up to look after both the household and their mother, taking on a pretty heavy load for what seems like a young person. She's known for being dependable—the kind of person who has to grow up fast when family circumstances demand it.
