Miyabi Shinohara works as a sommelier apprentice at a French restaurant and genuinely knows her stuff when it comes to wine—her tasting abilities are legitimately impressive. The problem is, she keeps bombing the official Sommelier qualification exam, which she's attributed to bad luck and maybe just not having the best instincts under pressure. These days she consults for Sun Beer's wine department, which is probably more stable anyway.
She's become Shizuku's go-to resource for wine knowledge, though he'll happily tease her for being too academic and nerdy about the whole thing. The two are basically always together, and it's pretty clear she has genuine feelings for him—something fans definitely pick up on. One of the running gags in the series has her inviting male friends over for wine tastings at her place, then inevitably drinking way too much and waking up the next morning with zero recollection of how she ended up stripped down to just her underwear. It happens often enough that it's become a reliable punchline.
