Yakov Nikitin
Yakov Nikitin served as the ISS medical officer alongside his wife, Darya Nikitina. During their time in orbit, the couple witnessed something impossible from their vantage point above Earth—the sudden petrification of all human life on the planet's surface.
After returning to Earth, Yakov became the founder of Ishigami Village, establishing what would become humanity's primary settlement in the post-petrification world. He's essentially the patriarch of the new civilization that emerged from the stone age that claimed everyone else.
