Haraguchi is basically the worst kind of club member—a "phantom" who barely shows his face at Genshiken, and when he does, it's never good news. He's technically signed up for the Manga Society and Anime Society too, but hasn't bothered paying dues to any of them. Everyone calls him "Haraguro" behind his back, and honestly, people can't stand him. The only reason he hasn't been completely shut out is because he supposedly knows some semi-professional manga artists, though even that goodwill wears thin. The real problem is that he intimidates people into keeping quiet about how much they dislike him, so his unpopularity mostly stays under the surface.
