Juumonji is the de facto leader of the "Ha-Ha Brothers" and the glue holding the trio together. He's got a distinctive X-shaped scar on his right cheek—his last name literally means "cross," which fans suspect is a deliberate reference. Interestingly, his father sports a similar scar on his forehead, suggesting it might run in the family.
He's best known for being the first of the three brothers to take football seriously and the first to actually score a touchdown, which is genuinely impressive considering linemen almost never get near the ball. He was also the first to figure out that Sena was Eyeshield 21. More importantly, he's shown genuine growth throughout the series, sympathizing with Sena and pushing himself to become a better lineman so he can support his teammates.
Juumonji gets fired up easily and tends to take charge during crucial moments—you see it in the NASA Aliens game and the Death March arc. He's thoughtful in his own way, keeping the brotherhood intact even when things get rough. One thing fans often note is his complicated relationship with his father, who constantly tells him to ditch his friends and calls them "trash," much like Agon does with his own crew.
Smartwise, he's ranked among the team's sharpest minds, falling just below Hiruma, Mamori, and Yukimitsu. Musashi has even compared him to himself, noting they share a similar stoic, almost samurai-like attitude toward life—they tend to react the same way to absurd situations. In the anime, he's also portrayed as someone with acrophobia, a fear bad enough that completing the Death March doesn't even fix it.
