Dian is an alchemist who shows up starting in volume three. She's basically on a mission to document pagan folklore and beliefs, planning to publish them as books. What makes her significant to the story is that she actually knows about Yoitsu—Holo's mysterious homeland—which is pretty rare knowledge. As for her name, Dian thinks it comes across as too masculine, so she asks Lawrence to call her Diana instead.
